So I promised you guys I’d post fails.. So here’s one I just made and gave up on. =))))
So this recipe was supposed to be yema balls. Yema is a sweet filipino dessert made of condensed milk, butter and egg yolks cooked in a pot until formed into a sticky ball to let cool and form into other smaller balls. This is traditionally done by forming the yema into triangles and wrapped in colored transparent foil. But you know, I don’t know how to make them triangles so I wanted to form them into balls instead and coat them in sugar. :)
BUT APPARENTLY I COULDN’T DO THAT.
It was a total waste of 14oz of condensed milk and 3 eggs… TT^TT
I swear I had all the ingredients down. I was SUPER prepared. But probably I didn’t follow the correct procedure? I really have no idea. I’d done this recipe like so many times and I can’t believe I got it all wrong. =)))
I know I’m supposed to feel bad but… it just looks really gross and weird now.. =)))
Probably I didn’t temper the eggs. Or maybe I had the heat on too high.
BUT ONE THING IS FOR SURE.
I didn’t keep my eyes on it for too long… TT^TT
I was just going to get a new wooden spoon to mix it and stuff.
But when I came back and tried mixing it.
ALL THIS BLACK CRAP STARTED MIXING IN WITH THE THING.
AND THE EGG YOLKS STARTED COOKING AND NOT BEING INCORPORATED.
BAD EGG YOLKS, BAD.
AND I WAS LIKE OK WHAT THE HELL IS THAT.
And at that moment, I swear it was a burnt disaster… =)))))))
Oh well. =)))
And I was stupid enough to just turn off the heat, give up and take a picture of the thing. =)))
WARNING: THIS LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE BARF IN A PAN. I ALMOST HURLED JUST LOOKING AT THE THING. PLEASE VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK. =)))
I promise to post something I little more appetizing soon! I promise! D:
I’m so sorry… TT^TT
I will go cry in a hole now.. Bye. =))))
